Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at drhyatt@hyattclinic.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

YES!

Our office hours are Monday-Friday from 9 am-5 pm by appointment for members only. We also offer telehealth, same day or next-business-day appointments.

Your monthly membership covers the cost of office visits as often as they are needed, including tele-medicine visits, and communication through email, and text messaging. We only charge an additional fee (due at the time of service) if we provide you with wholesale medications, discounted laboratory testing, or if we perform a procedure requiring out-of-the-ordinary supplies. We will always tell you ahead of time if there are any additional charges for which you will be responsible. It is part of our commitment to transparency in medicine and validation of your right to make informed choices about your health care.

Your subscription will renew automatically  with the payment method on file when you activated the subscription unless canceled. If you need to make changes or update your payment information, simply contact our office for assistance.

We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards, checks, ACH transfers, and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). If you have any specific payment concerns, please reach out to our office for help.

A DPC subscription offers numerous benefits, including:

  • No Copays
  • Unlimited visits
  • Same-day/next-business-day appointments
  • Personalized Care: Direct access to your physician with more time devoted to your health needs.
  • Convenience: Schedule appointments with ease, often with little to no wait time.
  • Cost Savings: Lower overall healthcare costs with discounted rates on labs, imaging, and medications, plus potential savings on insurance.
  • Comprehensive Management: Ongoing care for both acute and chronic conditions with a focus on prevention and long-term health.

See our services page for the full list of services included with each monthly subscription.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) practices offer a wide range of services, including:

  • Treatment of Common Illnesses: Care for colds, flu, strep throat, rashes, burns, joint injuries, and other minor wounds.
  • Preventative Screenings: Stay up-to-date with recommended screenings, such as colonoscopies, pap smears, and EKGs.
  • Chronic Condition Management: Personalized management plans for chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and thyroid disorders.
  • Minor Procedures: Many DPC providers can perform minor procedures such as mole removal, joint injections, stitches, and simple cosmetic procedures. Ask your doctor about their scope of practice.
  • Annual Physicals: Comprehensive full-body physicals and checkups, often starting with your first in-person appointment.

Please refer to our memberships page for detailed pricing information. Typically, the monthly fee is comparable to your cell phone bill—a small price for an unparalleled level of care.

With a Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership, you gain access to personalized care that includes:

  • Direct Access to Your Doctor: Reach your doctor directly via their personal cell number.
  • Timely Appointments: Schedule next-day appointments, something rarely possible in traditional healthcare settings.
  • Cost Savings: Take advantage of discounted rates on lab tests, imaging, and medications through established relationships with local providers.
  • Insurance Savings: Many members save on insurance costs by opting for a high-deductible plan.

In essence, a DPC membership offers the personalized care and attention you'd expect if your doctor were part of your family.

Yes, DPC memberships can save on healthcare costs in many situations. Here’s how:

  • Medication Savings: DPC practices often provide common medications directly, reducing the need for pharmacy visits and eliminating multiple copays.
  • Emergency Cost Reduction: Emergencies can be costly, with insurance copays reaching $100 or more. Without insurance, ER visits could exceed $1,000, plus additional charges. A DPC membership can cover these costs over years by providing direct access to care, significantly reducing the financial burden.
  • Lower Insurance Costs: With a DPC membership, you can potentially choose a lower-cost insurance plan, as the DPC covers most of your primary healthcare needs. This helps you avoid the expense of high-priced insurance plans.
  • Affordable Access to Personal Physicians: Historically, only the wealthy or celebrities could afford a personal doctor. Now, DPC makes it possible for everyone to have access to a personal physician at a very low cost.

Not for our services at Hyatt Clinic. You can, however, use it anywhere else you might receive care or medical services. We do offer greatly discounted lab tests (sometimes 90% less than what you might be charged under insurance) as well as inexpensive, in-house, generic medication dispensing but these are not a requirement for membership. We always want you to get the most for your health care dollars. If we can provide a lab test or medication more affordably than what you could obtain elsewhere with insurance, we are glad to provide it.

It's advisable to keep your health insurance if possible to cover emergencies, specialist referrals, and hospital stays. However, with a DPC membership, you may be able to lower your insurance premiums, as most of your day-to-day and chronic care needs are managed directly by your physician.

No worries, we understand that changes occur, and we are ready to assist you in that process. If you need to cancel, just contact us to provide your 30-day cancellation notice.  However, there is a $300 reenrollment fee if you were to join again within 24 months.

Unfortunately, due to regulations in place by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) we are not currently able to see patients who have Medicare.

We do not provide refills for chronic opioids or benzodiazepines.  We do not treat chronic pain problems or diagnoses. These are best treated by specialists in pain managment.  Benzodiazepines are best managed by psychiatrists.

If you require a consult for specialty medical care, Hyatt Clinic will work closely with that specialist and coordinate your care. Dr. Hyatt is familiar with the local specialists in the area, and since we are not affiliated with any other healthcare system, we can decide together who will best serve your needs.

By all means, yes! If an emergency arises after hours, you may contact the physician directly via text to the cell number that is provided to you once you are a member of the practice.

No, we do not bill or use health insurance at Hyatt Clinic. We have found that by not taking insurance, we can provide better care with more transparent pricing for you. We do not have to wrestle with them to get things done. We put you back in the control of your care!

Since we do not bill or use health insurance, we do not take co-payments .

As a family medicine and emergency medicine physician, Dr. Hyatt is trained to provide medical care for kids and adults. Children of all ages, including newborns and adults are welcome to the practice.

Osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), also known as osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), is a type of hands-on care that involves using the hands to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. OMM is performed by medical doctors, also known as doctors of osteopathy (DOs), who are specially trained in healing the musculoskeletal system. OMM is based on the principles of body unity, self-regulatory and self-healing mechanisms, and the interrelationship between structure and function. OMM techniques include stretching, gentle pressure, and resistance, and focus on the structural and functional systems of the body as a whole. For example, OMM can involve cranial manipulation, which is applying soft pressure to different parts of the skull to identify areas of tension, restriction, or dysfunction in the body. The goal is to promote a sense of well-being and facilitate the body's natural healing processes. OMM can also involve working on other parts of the body that could be the root cause of a health concern, such as related joints, muscles, blood vessels, and fascia. OMM is a non-invasive and medication-free treatment option that can be used to treat a variety of common ailments, including headaches, arthritis, stress injuries, sports injuries, and pain in the lower back, neck, shoulders, and knees.
