Dr. Hyatt is a dedicated physician, aviator, and retired Air Force Colonel with a diverse and accomplished background. He has been happily married to Clarice since 1996, and together they have two children. Dr. Hyatt is a dedicated physician, aviator, and retired Air Force Colonel with a diverse and accomplished background. He has been happily married to Clarice since 1996, and together they have two children. His impressive educational journey culminated in a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from the University of Health Sciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003, preceded by a B.A. in Zoology from Southern Utah University. Dr. Hyatt has spent the past 18 years practicing emergency medicine. He is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy and holds the designation of Aviation Medical Examiner with extensive FAA certifications, including Certified Flight Instructor, Certified Instrument Flight Instructor and Commercial Pilot licenses. His commitment to excellence is further highlighted by awards such as Intern of the Year and the Robert J. Cotter, D.O., FACOS, Award.
Dr. Hyatt's distinguished military career, culminating in the rank of Colonel and retirement in 2023, includes numerous leadership positions within the Missouri Air National Guard, serving as Commander of the 131st Medical Group and Missouri State Air Surgeon (Air Surgeon General, Missouri). He has also served as a Flight Surgeon in multiple units and deployed as a Flight Surgeon with the 332d Expeditionary Fighter Squadron in Iraq. His dedicated service has been recognized with numerous military awards and decorations, including multiple Meritorious Service Medals and the Air Medal. He brings a wealth of experience in aerospace medicine, including extensive flight experience as a Chief Flight Surgeon with multiple flight hours in a variety of aircraft. In addition to his military and medical pursuits, Dr. Hyatt is a skilled interpreter in Portuguese - Brazilian at Level 3/3 and Portuguese - European at Level 2+/3.
Dr. Hyatt's professional experience includes a diverse range of medical roles. Dr. Hyatt has practiced Emergency Medicine for the past 18 years. In addition to his current roles as an Emergency Medicine Physician and Medical Director for the Cape County Private Ambulance Service, he also serves as an owner and flight instructor for Hyatt Aviation, LLC. Throughout his career, he has served in various emergency medicine positions, including Assistant Medical Director and Interim Medical Director. Before focusing on emergency medicine, he practiced as a family medicine physician. Dr. Hyatt is a strong advocate for Direct Primary Care and holds memberships in a variety of professional organizations, showcasing his dedication to both medicine and aviation. He is also an advanced open water diver, demonstrating his passion for diverse interests.
